1982-86

124cc, OHC, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 6-speed

Replacing the 'S' model the all-new for 1982 XL125R featured Honda's unique Pro-Link rear suspension, an upgraded engine with 6-speed transmission, 12-volt electrics and no-maintenance CDI ignition system.

XL250R
1982-87

248cc, OHC, 4-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 6-speed

The XL250R proved to be a good all-rounder attracting buyers of all ages and skills. The 4-valve single cylinder motor provided a good range of torque when required through its 6-speed gearbox.

For just one year only (replaced by the XL600R in 1983) the XL500R was the top of the range. A big thumper for the experienced on-off road rider.

1983-87

589cc, OHC, 4-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 5-speed

Replacing the XL500R in 1983 came this 589cc single-cylinder beast featuring a new engine with Honda design RFVC (Radial Four Valve Combustion Chamber) and dual carburettors providing even more torque for this top of the range XL.
