CB400F, 1975

Watch this Honda Factory video of the CB400F in action.

CB400F Super Sport
1975-77

408cc, 4-cylinder, 4-cycle, 4-carbs, SOHC, 6-speed.

Based on the CB350F, the CB400F was lighter and more powerful but was also a factory cost cutting exercise as the 350 model was very expensive to produce!

The 350 cast tank and side panel badges were replaced with stickers on the 400, the front fork painted shrouds replaced with open forks plus other minor changes along with replacing the high-cost four separate exhausts.

However, whilst the new CB400F 4 into 1 exhaust system was much less expensive to produce its eye-catching design became an iconic feature of this much loved middle class multi-cylinder.

Due to its slim design with low seat height the CB400F was, and still is today, a popular model with female riders!

A popular restoration project model...
Due to its 1970s popularity and the fact many parts are readily available today the CB400F remains one of the most popular Honda models for the home restorer.
