XL600V Transalp

583cc liquid-cooled 52° V-Twin with Electric Start.
Introduced from 1987 the XL600V Transalp is a dual-sport motorcycle sub-titled 'Rally Touring'.
The first version had an output of 50hp@8,000 rpm, this was increased to 55hp for the 1989 and 1990 version but later models returned to the original 50hp.
From 1991, the rear drum brake was replaced by a disc brake, with a single-piston brake caliper and from 1997 the front brake was changed to a twin disc brake arrangement.
The appearance was altered in 1994, the original square lights were changed and a new fairing was introduced.
From year 2000 the XL600V was replaced by the larger capacity XL650V Transalp model and XL700V from 2008. From the beginning the Japan home market had a 400cc (XL400V) version of the same model.
